Indonesian Embassy in Astana Celebrated the 66th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence for the First Time in Kazakhstan

On August 17, 2011, Indonesian Embassy in Astana held the Ceremony to Commemorate the 66th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence. The ceremony, which took place in the afternoon, at 5.00 p.m. local time, was attended by the Indonesian people who live and work in Kazakhstan, families and staffs of the Embassy.

Delivering the message, Charge d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Astana, among others, said that the Ceremony to Commemorate the 66th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence in Kazakhstan were held for the first time, since the diplomatic relations between Indonesia-Kazakhstan established 20 (twenty) years ago. In the presence Indonesian Embassy in Astana since 8 (eight) months ago, is expected to increase ties between the two countries, and therefore requested the Embassy staffs and the Indonesian communities can encourage cooperation between the two countries in various fields and also to maintain harmony, unity and integrity.

After the flag ceremony, all the Embassy’s staffs and Indonesian communities had some traditional games, such as sack race and dangdut dance.

The series of event to commemorate the 66th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence followed by an iftar along with the entire Embassy staff and families of Astana, as well as the entire community of Indonesia in Kazakhstan.
