In compliance with the Act number 23 of the year 2006 concerning Demographic Administration, every Indonesian citizen living or traveling abroad must notify his/her whereabouts, moving, changing of address, stay permit status, and any other relevant condition such as birth, married, divorce, or death, to the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Consulate-General/Consulate in the country where the individual stays. 

It is therefore advisable that every Indonesian Citizen being abroad to notify his/her whereabouts to the nearest Indonesian Mission whenever he/she will stay more than 5 (five) days in the foreign country.
